1968, net art project
1968 is a recreation of the Wikipedia entry titled "1968". The text of the original digital file was transcribed using ink markers on paper, then digitized and posted to the Internet. Although literal in nature, the operation exposes glaring differences in technology by transposing dynamic text-based content to a static collection of images. The result is a work that mimics its source while creating a tension between the veneer of presentation and the mythological weight of its contents.
